The DeFrancesco Brothers CD charted at #29 of all jazz releases for the year 2011. The group features Joey DeFrancesco- organ, Johnny DeFrancesco- guitar and Glenn Ferracone- drums. The album was released in early 2011 on the Vectordisc label. It was recorded, mixed and mastered at The Music Centre by Glenn Ferracone.

Carmen Intorre mixes and masters project at The Music Centre

N.Y.C. drummer Carmen Intorre just finished an exciting new CD to be released on the Random Act Records label. The recording features the finest musicians in the business, including Joey DeFrancesco and Pat Bianci. The recording took place at top N.Y.C. and L.A. studios, with the editing, mixing and mastering duties performed at The Music Centre in Exton, PA. by Glenn Ferracone. The CD provides a wide range material that grooves hard! Produced by Scott Elias, this CD will receive heavy airplay.

Lee Smith records at The Music Centre

World class bassist Lee Smith is currently recording a project of original compositions. Lee has recorded and performed with the finest musicians on the planet, and many are featured on his new CD. Barbara Montgomery is co- producing the project, along with Lee. The Music Centre’s Glenn Ferracone is engineering the recording.

NPR’s “ECHOS” records “Johanna and the Dusty Floor” for international broadcast

John DiLiberto recently produced a live interview and recording of the group “Johanna and the Dusty Floor” for his long running radio show “ECHOS”. John DiLiberto’s productions are an integral part of National Public Radio’s play-list.

Johanna and the Dusty Floor features unique instrumentation, vocal harmonies and a pop sensibility. Their interview and performance will air throughout the fall of 2011.

The session was recorded at The Music Centre in Exton, PA. The recording engineer was Jeff Towne, assisted by Glenn Ferracone.

Odean Pope records at The Music Centre

Saxophonist Odean Pope recorded an exciting new project at The Music Centre in Exton, PA. The project will be released internationally on The In And Out label. Mr. Pope has enjoyed a thirty year career, playing, recording and touring with the best in the business. Other players in his trio include Lee Smith on Bass and Billy Hart on Drums. All the tracks on the forthcoming disc are original, penned by Mr. Pope.

Co- Producer Denna Adler attended the sessions. The Music Centre’s Glenn Ferracone recorded, mixed and mastered the project.

David Bennett Thomas records new project

Compser/Pianist Dave Thomas recently recorded a new jazz oriented project comprised of original compositions. Musicians include Dave Thomas on piano, Ron Kerber on saxophones, Erik Johnson on drums, Micha Jones on bass, and Kevin Hanson on guitar. Dave is an active composer whose works have been performed by orchestras, choirs, and ensembles internationally.

Paul Vanderslice honored by Conestoga H.S.

The Scholarship and Awards Committee at Conestoga H.S. will establish the Conestoga Vocal Artist Scholarship on June 2, 2001. This scholarship has been established in honor of Paul Vanderslice, who served as Music and Choral Director from 1961 to 1990. The scholarship will be funded on an annual basis in the amount of $2500.00. The ceremony will take place at 7 P.M. in the CHS auditorium.

Paul Vanderslice has been a valued member of The Music Centre’s faculty for many years. He has produced a legacy of exceptional students, and continues to enjoy teaching. Please join us in our sincerest congratulations.

Papa John DeFrancesco & The DeFrancesco Brothers enjoy chart success

Papa John DeFrancesco’s “A Philadelphia Story” flew up to #3 on the Jazz Top 50 Charts. Released to airplay on May 5th, the project soared to #3 in 2 weeks on the Savant record label. Papa John, long reconized as a Hammond B-3 master, is joined by son Johnny DeFrancesco on guitar and Glenn Ferracone on drums. This disc grooves hard, and has already been critically acclaimed.

The DeFrancesco Brothers self- titled release continued it’s residence in the Jazz Top 50. The project peaked at #4 in March and has enjoyed heavy airplay since it’s release in January 2011 on the Vectordisc label. It’s 20 week stay in the Jazz Top 50 tops all other jazz releases in the past 3 years. The group features Joey DeFrancesco on Organ, Johnny DeFrancesco on Guitar and Glenn Ferracone on Drums. The Album features all original compositions.

Both projects were recorded and produced at The Music Centre in Exton, P.A.. The Music Centre’s Glenn Ferracone received Drumming, Recording, Mixing, Mastering and Production credits.

Nick Ruffini records solo debut

Drummer Nick Ruffini just recorded a smoking project with all original compositions. Guitarist Johnny DeFrancesco is featured, along with Rich Budesa and Paul Klinefelter. Be sure to check the disc out when it’s released– it will not disappoint!

Papa John DeFrancesco tops Jazz Charts

Papa John DeFrancesco’s new CD- “Philadelphia Story” flew up the jazz charts upon it’s release last week, residing at #17, and receiving heavy airplay. Papa John is one of the baddest Hammond B-3 burners in the business, with the disc showcasing him well. The project features Johnny DeFrancesco on guitar, Glenn Ferracone on drums and Joey DeFrancesco on trumpet. This groove heavy CD has already been critically acclaimed.

The Music Centre’s Glenn Ferracone received drumming, recording, mixing and mastering credits on the project. All production was done in-house at The Music Centre, Exton, PA.
